Words are extremely important to me. Having 'Creative' in your title or ministry name doesn't automatically make you creative. Being creative is uncomfortable, time-consuming, and excessively rewarding. I believe the church should be the most creative element in our culture. If God created the universe (the essence of creativity), and if we have a relationship with his Son, there is no reason we, the church, shouldn't excel in the creative field.
When it comes to the work I do, I believe in protecting "the brand", 100% consistency, simplicity, excellence, and honoring my bosses and coworkers.
One of my favorite passages of scripture is Ecclesiastes 1:1-11. Go and read it. It sounds very depressing, yet it continually reminds me 1) that God is in control, 2) He is the creator of all things so look to Him and His creation for ways to communicate the Gospel, 3) after all the creativity and project timelines fade, what remains is a generation exposed to the Gospel. Sounds crazy, but it drives me on a daily basis, and on those all-nighters.
Other than that, I've been known to have a sarcastic side, I love to travel (New York, San Francisco, San Diego, everywhere), music and coke wake me up in the morning, I enjoy a good comedy (tv or movie) and have been known to sweat heavily from my eyes while watching pretty much any sports movie. I'm not as addicted to sports as I use to be, which is probably a good thing.
